Optimization of dietary lemon seed essential oil to enhance alfalfa silage chemical composition and in vitro degradability

Purpose of the experiment was to evaluate effect lemon-seed essential oils on chemical composition and in vitro degradability alfalfa silage. Treatments were silage with no additive (control) or treated 60 ml/kg DM (C60), (C120) equal mixed them (M60). Whole plant ensiled for d triplicate laboratory scale tubes. Dry matter, organic crude protein, insoluble fiber acidic neutral detergent, water soluble carbohydrate, pH, measured 3 replicates by gas production method. matter (DM) content greater leo60 than control. Compared control, detergent (NDF) concentration decreased leo120. Addition their combination significantly (p<.0001) pH compared untreated interestingly increased all silages containing oil rate disappearance dry treatments control treatment. The potential has (60 ml / kg DM) which is different from In general, obtained data show positive quality its fermentation properties.
